This is what I felt when I visited the United States for the first time in 1972. What I saw there amazed me and touched me deeply.
In the United States, I found prices that are one-third of those in Japan, quality of products made from users’ perspectives, lineups of products in coordinated colors and styles, and the very fact that many chain retailers were doing the exact same practices and hence, supporting the everyday life of many people. “I want to create stores like theirs someday.” “I want to build a company that contributes to a better and more enjoyable everyday life for everyone.”
That deep impression, response and determination I felt on that day were the starting points on how NITORI Group is shaping its business today.
